Does God Exists ?
Does God Exist? – Vedic & Hindu Perspective 1. Logical & Scientific Reasoning Every machine needs an operator. The universe—with its intricate balance—is like a complex mechanism. By observation, every machine implies an operator, so by analogy, the cosmos implies a transcendent source The classic "Cosmological Argument": Something cannot come from absolute nothing. It's more logical that “everything comes from something”—that something is termed God 2. Innate Spiritual Urge Across cultures—including tribal, ancient, and modern—humans show a natural inclination to seek or revere a higher power. This suggests an intrinsic spiritual impulse pointing toward God In Vedic tradition, this innate urge is evidence of a reality beyond the material: a Supreme Consciousness. 3. Consciousness & Experience Consciousness—our sense of self-awareness—is not easily explained by physical processes alone. If machines cannot replicate true consciousness, the real human mind suggests an immaterial source—God The individual soul is likened to reflections of the sun in various pots of water, implying a single ultimate source—Brahman 4. Scriptural & Philosophical Insight The Vedas and Upanishads describe a cosmic principle called Brahman: the ultimate, eternal, conscious reality underlying all that exists The Shvetashvatara Upanishad describes the Atma (inner Self) as the supreme, all-pervading Lord Advaita Vedanta teaches that Brahman is the true self—unchanging, immortal, and identical to pure consciousness 5. Arguments from Classical Schools Nyāya philosophy presents logical proofs from cause and effect: the world requires a first cause, atomic motion implies intelligence, and moral laws suggest a divine lawgiver Samkhya, a dualist school, rejects a creator God, yet other Vedic schools accept divine intelligence and guidance behind existence 6. Existential & Anecdotal Argument The classic barber anecdote: just because some avoid the barber doesn't mean barbers don't exist. Similarly, suffering doesn’t negate God’s existence—sometimes it’s due to neglecting spiritual awareness.
